Porque se utilizan en aplicaciones de control de modelismo ferroviario y en otras cosillas en que ando metido, por lo que trato de aprender bien un solo tipo de microcontrolador en lugar de tocar varios. Con PICs se pueden hacer maravillas, incluso hay un servidor web (pila TCP/IP inclu?da, claro) para uno de los grandes. Los peque?os son una maravilla de sencillez y potencia. El primer proyecto que quiero llevar a cabo es hacer un termostato. Yo estoy buscando informaci?n para usar un viejo GF788e a encender/apagar remotamente una caldera de calefacci?n. La parte dif?cil es hablar con el tel?fono; si alguien tropieza con algo, me avise, por favor. En cuanto al almacenamiento: cuando abandonas la mentalidad de ordenador personal, alucinas con la de cosas que se pueden hacer con 64 bytes de RAM. Otro microcontrolador muy popular es el Atmel AVR; tengo entendido que es algo m?s potente que el PIC medio, pero no lo he probado nunca.
