The work in bsddb 4.7.3 is basically done, and it will be released in a
week or two.
New feature request SHOULD be mailed to this mailing list, to be able to
track them, not to my private email address.
And now the important issue to discuss:
bsddb will be dropped in Python 3.0. It will be available but marked as
"deprecated" in Python 2.6. Possibly dropped in Python 2.7.
Of course I will keep working on it, and providing PYPI packages.
I was wondering if you could provide reasons to keep bsddb in the Python
Standard Library. I think that providing a powerful ACID, replication,
distributed transaction module in stock python is a huge feature;
dropping it will be (in my opinion) a serious opportunity cost.
Do you have any info I can use to defend bsddb in Python stock
distribution?.
