Esto es un texto q he encontrado por ahí buscando
noticias de la peli (que alguien me diga una buena pag
si la conoce para no perder tanto tiempo). Está en
inglés y es largo.

Lo resumo por si no quereis leerlo entero: LoTR (no
Lord of the Rings, sino Legend of the Rangers) era el
posible piloto de una nueva serie, pues bien, según se
dice aquí, JMS podría escribir el piloto de esa serie
(la peli será otra cosa aparte, como In the Beginning
y las demás) titulado: "To Live and Die in Starlight".
No conozco la fiabilidad de esto, pero no creo que
sean solo rumores. Que luego se lleve a cabo o no
dependerá de muchas cosas.

Babylon 5: The Legend of the Rangers
A Zealot Preview by Shane Ivey

We've heard for a while now that the SCI-FI Channel is
happy with Babylon 5's ratings. Now they've officially
upped the ante, in the best possible way: with a
brand-new B5 TV movie in development which may also
serve as the pilot for a new series.

The film and series will both be titled The Legend of
the Rangers, set three years after the main Babylon 5
storyline. That places it two years before the action
in the first spin-off series, Crusade.

B5 creator J. Michael Straczynski has said The Legend
of the Rangers will be mainly action and adventure
with some drama, as compared with Babylon 5, which he
described as mainly drama with some action and
adventure.

As fans will remember, the Rangers in are an elite
military order of the alien Minbari, joined by many
human soldiers when Minbar and Earth became allies. In
the era of The Legend of the Rangers they are led by
Delenn, the Minbari ambassador to Babylon 5.

The pilot, "To Live and Die in Starlight," will be
written by Straczynski and executive produced by
Douglas Netter. Unfortunately, Straczynski has kept
quiet about the plot. He has said that it will revolve
around the dangerous challenges faced by the Rangers
as they attempt to restore order to the many worlds
devastated by the Shadow War, and that it will explore
Minbari culture and technology and feature a new
starship design.

Straczynski has also said that at least one Babylon 5
regular will feature prominently in the movie ("a fan
favorite") but he didn't say who. We can speculate -
Mira Furlan's Delenn would be the obvious guess, with
Bill Mumy's Lenier (who fled in disgrace at the end of
Babylon 5) as an interesting alternative - but we
won't know until JMS tells us.

Interestingly, the movie will be shot and composited
in widescreen, so that a widescreen version will be
available regardless of which format the SCI-FI
channel actually broadcasts.

The Legend of the Rangers will begin principal
photography in Vancouver in May. The pilot movie, "To
Live and Die in Starlight," is expected to air in
fall, 2001. The SCI-FI channel has said that it will
decide whether to go ahead with the series based
either on a rough cut of the movie, or based on the
movie's ratings when it airs.
