encontrar soluciones inmediatas y a largo plazo.

Patni, KPMG, Global Esecure, Cognizant, Network
Solutions, Novell, Microland, NTPC faridabad, Computer

Associate, Amway, Ramco, HCL Comnet, ICICI Infotech,
Wipro, Wipro Spectramind, NSS Pune, IIT Bombay
Research Students etc...

SECURITY PROFESSIONALS RESPONDS TO CYBER TERRORISM

In this era of Internet where all information is wired
and linked, we need to protect every bit and byte of
data that matters. With the recent outburst
and maturity of IT businesses in India, now is the
appropriate time to form a strategy regarding Internet
security and data security.

As we all know organizations are increasingly
leveraging Information Technology to gain a
competitive edge in the market place. This race to
wear the crown in the open-world market under an
unreliable economy has resulted in bad play and
cyber-terrorism, which has been acknowledged by many
organizations all over the world.

With recent knowledge that hacking community is
targeting another attack, Security professionals feel
a need for network defense awareness program
initiation. Thus, resulting in enhancement of network
security standards within government and throughout
the globe.

With this thought and an aim to form a stronger and
secured Internet infrastructure in India, a forum for
information sharing and thought leadership on
information security related issues, was born on March

02, 2003 by Balwant Rathore.

This forum represents industry's best security
professionals and aims to identify and standardize
best practices in Internet security and network
survivability while creating a collaborative
environment to develop and implement information
security solutions.

The group has identified following areas for achieving
its mission of leading and directing security efforts.

*	Promoting a culture across organizations for
protection of information and sharing of knowledge to
fight against cyber attacks.

*	Act as an agency to alarm the organizations on any
emerging areas of threat and lead efforts of finding
immediate and long-term solutions for the same.

*	Conduct research leading to identification and
resolution of root causes to problems and hence
conduct timely seminars to educate the others about
emerging security issues .The initial seminars are
held in
Mumbai, Bangalore, Madrid and have plans to do it
across the globe.

*	Advise and provide technical help to government
bodies or organizations in proactively addressing
security issues with repercussions on governance and
law enforcement.

*	Providing the IT security community with standards
to conduct various IT security tasks. One such effort
for development of an end-to-end
security-testing guide is already underway.
