Could you possibly try last pybssdb with a current Berkeley DB?. Last
pybsddb is 4.6.2. Last Berkeley DB is 4.6.21.
I you don't want to pollute your OS trying these versions, I can help
you to install them "aside".
A testcase would be nice :).
