Nice to know. Just remember that stock pybsddb in python 2.x is imported
as "bsddb", while standalone version is imported as "bsddb3". So both
versions can live in the same system.

Yes. Pybsddb 4.8.* will work under Python 2.3-2.6 and under 3.0 too.
When python 2.7 and 3.1 be published, I will support them.
PS: I would recomend to upgrade too the Berkeley DB installed in your
system, because new versions are -usually- less buggy and more
featureful. That said, pybsddb 4.8.* will compile against any Berkeley
DB from 4.1.x to 4.8.x. If you are not going to use advanced topics like
replication, MVC, etc., maybe your stock BDB be good enough.
